Working Holiday Visa (417)

What is a Working Holiday Visa? The Working Holiday Visa is designed for young individuals who are not Australian citizens to travel, work, and live in Australia. During the validity period of the visa, holders can enter and exit Australia multiple times, and there are no restrictions on the number of hours they can work.

 

Application Requirements:

 

  • Age between 18 and 30 (including 30 years old).
  • No dependents or children included in the application.
  • No previous visa experience with visa subclass 417 or 462.
  • Good health condition.
  • No criminal record.

 

Visa Duration:

 

  • The initial visa is valid for 12 months.
  • If the applicant completes 3 months of specified work in a designated regional area while holding the first visa and applies before turning 31, they can obtain a second visa valid for 12 months.
  • If the applicant completes 6 months of specified work in a designated regional area while holding the second visa and applies before turning 31, they can obtain a third visa also valid for 12 months.

 

Required Documents:

 

  • Valid passport.
  • Applicant must be outside Australia when applying.
  • Health examination certificate.
  • Proof of financial capacity.
  • The application fee for each of the three visas is AUD $635.

 

Work Limitations: 

 

  • Can only work for the same employer for up to 6 months.
  • Different tax rates apply based on the total annual income:

 

Income of $0-$37,000: tax rate of 15%.

Income of $37,000-$90,000: tax rate of 32.5%.

Income of $90,001-$180,000: tax rate of 37%.

Income of $180,001 and over: tax rate of 45%.
