Curtin University is a public, comprehensive research university located in Perth, the capital of Western Australia in the Commonwealth of Australia. It is a member of the Federation of Australian Universities of Science and Technology (FAST), the Federation of Engineering Universities of China (FEUC) and the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU). Founded in 1900, it was the first university of science and technology in Australia and the third university in Western Australia. Curtin is the largest comprehensive university on the west coast of Australia and has been recognised by the Australian Council for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ACQAHE) as one of the top universities in the country. Curtin University of Technology has long enjoyed a high reputation in the international education community.

In particular, Curtin was one of the first universities in Australia to offer international education to students from overseas, particularly from South East Asia. Curtin has more than 40,000 students from 105 countries, both locally and overseas. Curtin is renowned worldwide for its vibrant and dynamic learning environment. Curtin University of Technology is one of Australia's most multicultural universities, with 25 per cent of its students being international students from overseas.

Curtin offers 450 courses for undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD students in business, engineering, science, humanities, health sciences, agriculture and mining, as well as pre-university and intensive English language studies. Unlike some well-established universities that emphasise theoretical research, Curtin places more emphasis on practical research, and has made great efforts to develop professions related to business, industry and society.
