James Cook University

 

JCU (James Cook University) is the second oldest university in Queensland, Australia. Located in the famous seaside city of Townsville in North Queensland, Australia, in the heart of the world-famous Great Barrier Reef, JCU is a 386-hectare public university covering the whole of north-east Australia, and also one of the top research universities in Australia. The university takes its name from James Cook, the famous 18th century seafaring explorer.

Founded in 1970 in Townsville, JCU has three campuses in Townsville, Cairns and Singapore, and is ranked 201-250 in the 2021 THE Higher Education World Rankings with an enrolment of over 3,000.
